The University of Greater Manchester is a “Teaching Intensive, Research Informed, Assessment Enabled” higher education institution whose distinctive high-quality, student-focussed, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes attract students from all over the world. We are looking to appoint a Charter Manager Degree Apprentice to our Outreach Practitioner role within the Foundation Programmes team, working predominantly on the Entry to Higher Education Academic Programme (EHEAP), which is a gateway and access course serving as a feeder route into undergraduate programmes. The outreach practitioner is critical to the marketing, administration, recruitment and conversion of the students onto the EHEAP course and then onto further study within the University of Greater Manchester. The Outreach Practitioner post holder will undertake crucial outreach work to identify the barriers that exist for disadvantaged members of the local community, and care experienced people, and ways in which these might be overcome, in order for them to successfully complete EHEAP and progress to further study. They will work with internal and external stakeholders to enable potential students in areas of deprivation, those with non-traditional education journeys or those who are care experienced, to have improved access to education, employment and training, experience stability in their lives and feel safe and secure, receive improved access to health support, and achieve financial stability, all of which will be the result of accessing higher education study. Qualifications Required The successful post holder must have GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, and relevant Level 3 qualifications. They will need to be IT proficient, able to communicate professionally in a variety of formats, and be able to develop and maintain positive working relationships.
