Overview This course provides an introduction to DESNZ, delving into the organisation’s purpose, why it was set up, career areas, and much more. What's Included Through interactive content, this introductory course provides a foundation for further exploration and a deeper understanding of DESNZ, the Civil Service, and the various career opportunities available. Lesson Overviews Introduction - First things first… what is the Civil Service, and what is its relationship to DESNZ? In this first lesson, we’ll provide contextual information about both of these entities for you to build from as you progress through the course. Purpose & Trends - What is the purpose of DESNZ, and what type of challenges does the organisation set out to solve? We’ll look at DESNZ in the context of the current landscape and emerging trends that may affect its work. History & Background - DESNZ was only formed fairly recently, but why was it set up? Learn about DESNZ’s formation in this lesson. Vision, Mission, & Values - What are DESNZ’s values, and what do they look like in practice? This lesson will provide context about why the organisation does what it does, including key driving factors. Business & Career Areas - You know what DESNZ is, but what roles could you pursue in the Civil Service? From Economist roles to International Net Zero, there are a whole host of career pathways for you to explore. Corporate Social Responsibility & Sustainability - In this final lesson, you’ll take a look at how DESNZ positively impacts society and the environment, and why that matters.
