Overview This course introduces some of the diverse range of roles within International Net Zero at DESNZ. You’ll explore the qualifications and skills needed to succeed in this field, as well as gain insight into typical day-to-day responsibilities, helping you understand what it’s like to work as a Civil Service professional in this area. The course also looks at career progression opportunities and highlights the challenges, rewards, and benefits of working in the Civil Service. Most importantly, you’ll take part in a real-world activity that mirrors tasks carried out by International Net Zero professionals, giving you the chance to reflect on whether this career path could be right for you. What's Included This experience includes insightful content on the role of an International Net Zero policy official at DESNZ. Be prepared for insightful videos delivered by real DESNZ colleagues, interactive activities, quizzes, and so much more. At the end of this experience, you'll put your knowledge of the role to the test in a real-world simulation task. Lesson Overviews Career Overview - In this first lesson, you’ll be introduced to what is meant by a career in International Net Zero and gain a high-level overview of this area of the Civil Service. It sets the foundation for the rest of the course, helping you understand what a career in this area entails and what’s needed to succeed. Qualification & Skill Requirements - Discover what skills are needed for a successful career in International Net Zero. Whatever your preferred route into the world of work, the Civil Service offers support and flexibility (spoiler: you don’t need a degree for most roles in this area!). Daily Activities - Ever wondered what a professional working in International Net Zero in government does day to day? This lesson will walk you through common daily activities and responsibilities and bust any myths you may have about a career in the Civil Service.
