As a Food Technical Degree Apprentice, you’ll play a huge part in making sure people can get the food they need. You’ll spend 3-years rotating between teams in our Food Technology function, developing new skills and working towards a degree while preparing for a brilliant career within our unique food retail business, and we’ll pay your course fees! Achieve a valuable degree and the start of a great career Join us as a Food Technology Degree Apprentice and play an important role in helping us maintain the highest standards of Food Safety, Food Quality and Legality across our manufacturing sites. Over the 3-year programme, you’ll rotate through a range of our technical teams, gaining hands-on experience and building your food manufacturing knowledge and leadership skills. Responsibilities you could take on during the scheme include: Providing support at our Flowerworld manufacturing site at peak trading times, such as Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day Working closely with production teams to understand how production lines run and the impact they make across our business Working with our Technical Systems Manager to understand product specifications, write procedures and develop existing systems As well as learning on-the-job, you’ll also be studying towards a BSc (Hons) Professional Practice in Food Technology Management at Sheffield Hallam University. Balancing work and a degree course will be challenging. To support your learning, we'll offer study leave to complete university work stress free. This role involves early starts, late finishes, night shifts and working weekends and Bank Holidays. Some placements may be shift-based, particularly during peak trading periods. It’s hard work for sure. But it’s also very rewarding. Every day is different, and we’ll support you every step of the way.
