Location: Farnborough | Hours: 37 hours per week, including one protected study day | Contract: Apprenticeship contract | Start date: January 2027 | Eligibility: Aged 21 or under on 1 January 2027 and you must have completed a Law Degree, or a non-Law Degree followed by the PGDL. Herrington Carmichael is offering a Level 7 Graduate Solicitor Apprenticeship for a graduate who wants to combine structured academic study with practical legal experience. You will work towards qualification as a Solicitor through BPP’s Graduate Solicitor Apprenticeship. Alongside your work at the Firm, you will receive one protected study day each week for live online teaching and independent study. The programme incorporates preparation for the SQE assessments, while your work at Herrington Carmichael provides the Qualifying Work Experience required to qualify. You will earn a salary throughout the apprenticeship, and there is no requirement to enter into a study-cost repayment agreement. The Opportunity You will complete two to three rotations across different areas of the Firm. These may include Corporate, Property and Private Client practice areas, although placements will reflect the Firm’s business needs and the experience required to support your development. You will work alongside Solicitors, Senior Solicitors and Partners, gaining practical experience while gradually taking on greater responsibility. Your work may include: Assisting with the day-to-day management of client matters Carrying out legal research and preparing written summaries Drafting correspondence and legal documents Communicating with clients and other professional advisers Attending client meetings and supporting transaction or matter management Maintaining accurate files, records and case-management information Supporting business development and wider team activities Completing the academic and work-based requirements of the apprenticeship Acting in accordance with the Firm’s policies, professional standards
