GHS (UK) is a Swindon-based managed IT services business supporting commercial organisations, schools and multi-site customers. Our work covers managed IT support, Microsoft 365, cloud services, cybersecurity, networking, servers, backup, telephony and onsite support. The Helpdesk works closely with our Field, Project and Senior Engineering teams, giving an apprentice valuable exposure to a broad range of customers and technologies. As an IT Apprentice at GHS you will begin with structured, process-led tasks such as building and preparing computers, installing approved software, handling equipment, and creating, changing or removing user accounts. As your knowledge, confidence and reliability grow, you will progress into first-line support, Microsoft 365 administration, troubleshooting, customer communication, monitoring and onsite work. Responsibilities: Build, configure and quality-check laptops and desktop computers using documented GHS processes. Install Windows updates, approved applications, security software and standard customer configurations. Create, amend and disable user accounts, email accounts and access permissions by following authorised requests and checklists. Keep accurate records of work completed, including clear ticket notes, build sheets, time entries and final checks.
