Two open MBDA Level 6 routes in Stevenage share a £23,000 salary but lead to different degrees, work and deadlines. Compare the entry rules before applying.
MBDA has two open Level 6 degree apprenticeships in Stevenage for September 2027. Both advertise £23,000 plus a £3,000 joining bonus. One leads to a Digital and Technology Solutions BSc; the other to a Project Management BSc. The shared pay does not make them interchangeable.
The deadline needs particular care. Each Workday card shows an “End Date” one calendar day after the closing time written in the advert itself. Plan around the earlier date in the advert body, and recheck the live listing before submitting.

Both are four-year programmes. Both say they may close earlier if application volumes are high. MBDA's pages showed working Apply links when checked on 29 October 2026. ApprenticeWizard first recorded each of these two rows at 10:12 GMT on 29 October. That is when our database saw them, not proof of when MBDA opened applications.
Our production database had 6,018 active opportunity rows across all types and 3,084 distinct employer keys at this check. Those are search records, not an independently verified count of open degree apprenticeships. Browse current opportunities, then confirm each role on the employer's own site.
The IT Consultant advert describes working across digital systems: understanding users' needs, helping design solutions, and learning about infrastructure, cloud, applications and cyber security. In years one and two, apprentices experience several Digital Excellence teams. Years three and four concentrate on the IT Consultant pathway. MBDA says there is usually one virtual study day each week, with time at MK:U at the start and end of modules. Check whether travel from home is workable.
The Business advert is rotational too, but its work centres on projects and commercial decisions. One stream covers project management, commercial work, procurement and supply chain. A second covers strategy, sales and business development. MBDA says it will consider you for both streams unless you name just one in your application. It describes one university day a week at Hertfordshire and rotational placements at work.
Neither route is simply “office work”. Read the duties and choose two you would want to learn. If you are drawn to technical systems, the IT route gives a clearer specialism. If you want to see how projects, suppliers and commercial teams fit together, read the Business streams carefully before picking one.
Both adverts require at least five GCSEs at grade 4, including English Language, Maths and a science or technology subject. Both describe post-GCSE routes worth at least 120 UCAS points, but the subject rules differ.
For IT Consultant, MBDA asks for three A levels including Maths or Computing/Computer Science, with no individual grade below C. It also lists qualifying Engineering or Computing T levels and specified Maths, Science, IT or Engineering BTECs; some BTEC applicants must show a Further Maths module.
For Business, the A-level route needs one of Business, Government and Politics, Economics, Finance, Accounting or Law, again with no grade below C. The listed alternatives are a Business BTEC at DDM or a Business T level at Merit. MBDA says an Extended Project Qualification does not add to the three-A-level total it assesses for either advert.
If your qualification does not match the wording cleanly, use the official advert to ask MBDA how it will assess it. Our guide to GCSE and A-level requirements helps you read the small print, but the live employer criteria decide eligibility.
The Business advert body says it is scheduled to close at midnight on 20 November 2026. The IT Consultant body says midnight on Friday 22 January 2027. The Workday cards label the following dates as their “End Date”. This may be how the system represents the midnight boundary; MBDA does not explain it on these pages. Use the earlier body date and do not wait for the final evening. Either vacancy may close sooner.
Both adverts state a security-clearance nationality condition: British citizen or dual UK national with British citizenship, with further restrictions potentially applying. This is a material eligibility check, not a detail to leave until after an offer. Read MBDA's full wording before spending time on the form.
Record the requisition number, the date you checked the advert and the next step in your application tracker. If you are comparing other employers too, the UBS degree-route guide shows why a programme overview and a live vacancy can use different qualification wording. Here, the two MBDA vacancies name different final degrees outright.
You would be studying and working for four years in either route. Pick the tasks and degree you can explain wanting, then check the subject and nationality rules line by line. The Business deadline comes first; the IT listing gives more time on paper, but MBDA warns it can close early.
