Morrisons Is Running Four Degree Apprenticeship Routes for 2027. Here Is What Each One Actually Involves.
Three of Morrisons' 2027-intake degree apprenticeships are live on our database right now — Corporate, Retail, and Food Technical — all closing 1 December 2026. A fourth, Manufacturing, runs alongside them through Morrisons' own careers site. This is one of the few UK retailers running a genuinely broad spread of degree-level entry routes rather than a single retail-management pathway, so it is worth being specific about what you would actually be signing up for.

All three list "competitive salary" rather than a figure. Morrisons has not published a specific number on either its main degree apprenticeships page or the Corporate-specific page, so treat any figure you see elsewhere — a Glassdoor estimate puts it around £24,000, rising to £27,000 on the Chartered Management route — as candidate-reported, not confirmed.
The actual structure
Morrisons runs these through three university partners depending on route and location. The Retail, Corporate and Manufacturing apprenticeships lead to a BSc (Hons) in Retail and Business Management through the University of Bradford; the Food Technical route leads to a BSc in Professional Practice in Food Technology Management through Sheffield Hallam; apprentices based in Scotland study a BA in Business Management through the University of Strathclyde under separate Graduate Apprenticeship funding. The Corporate route runs three years, is based at Hilmore House with home study built in, and Morrisons covers tuition plus travel and accommodation support for apprentices who need to live away from their course.
Entry requirements are consistent across routes: 112 UCAS points, recently achieved or predicted, and a minimum grade 4 in GCSE Maths and English. The Corporate route additionally asks for a full UK driving licence. In Scotland, the bar is four Highers at grade B or above including Maths and English.
On process, Morrisons states only that selection includes "live assessment, including virtual assessment centres, interviews, or exercises." It does not publish a stage-by-stage breakdown, so do not go in expecting a fixed number of rounds — ask your recruiter contact what to expect once you are through the initial application.
Do not confuse this with Fresh Start
Morrisons announced a separate scheme on 20 August 2026 called Proper Jobs: Fresh Start — 1,000 places by 2030, starting with 13 weeks as a store colleague before a 12-month craft apprenticeship in butchery, bakery, fishmongery or hospitality, plus a leadership-school stage, with 100 places reserved for Youth Guarantee applicants. That is a real and separate programme, not a degree apprenticeship, and not the one covered here. If you are reading this because a friend mentioned "Morrisons apprenticeships" without specifying which, check which one before you apply — the entry bar, qualification and time commitment are completely different.
What we could not confirm
No public source states an applicants-per-place figure for Morrisons' degree apprenticeship routes specifically. If you see a competition ratio quoted for this scheme anywhere, it is not something Morrisons, Bradford, Strathclyde or Sheffield Hallam has published, and neither have we — do not treat it as fact.
What to actually do
- Pick a route on substance, not brand recognition. Corporate and Retail are broader business-management routes; Food Technical is the specific one if you want a technical food-science career rather than general management.
- Get your UCAS points confirmed early. 112 points is not a token bar — if your predicted grades are close, ask your school for a written prediction now, not in November.
- Apply well before 1 December. Large-scheme deadlines rarely mean the last day is a good day to apply — rolling assessment is standard practice at this scale.
- If you are in Scotland, check the Strathclyde route specifically — the entry requirements and funding mechanism differ from the rest of the UK.
